My shoot got postponed due to weather. Had the gear out, so I tried to do something productive today. Business is slow and it’s driving me crazy. ABC.
It’s not often I get excited about equipment, but I made the move from Elinchrom to Profoto last year. Man, I really love the Profotos. Both AC and battery. My ode to Profoto during down time at a gig this afternoon. Shot with Profoto AcuteB2 AirS Li. Maybe they’ll put me on their blog and it’ll bring some business. I’d even take a free light modifier. Hell, I’d be happy to be a spokesmodel. If you’re passionate about great design and great lighting, check out Profoto lighting at profoto.com.
. . . rubber bath tub toys walked into the studio of Frederick Scott Archer (1851) to have wet plate portraits made? Perhaps the results would have looked something like this:
they’d have had no problem with being still for a long exposure.
I was setting up for a commercial assignment on a street corner in KC’s Power and Light District last month when I met Amir. We chatted about photography (mostly Photoshop) and he was gracious enough to stand in for the subject so I could test the light before the subject arrived. Amir’s one of those rare spirits who appears to be comfortable talking to just about anyone and gives off a very positive energy. He’s a genuinely nice guy. I gave him my card and we’ve talked some via email. He wants to be a motivational speaker or spoken word artist. Yesterday, I went to the Plaza to make a few pictures of him (in the black cap). The bonus was that he brought his friend, Gary, and I made a few pictures of him as well. Great faces and really nice guys.
Hope your weekend is a great one and you get to play with your favorite toy. Or at least get to watch a cartoon or eat cotton candy. Bis Montag.
This is what happens when you have a fisheye lens, get a ring flash, you’re bored and you’re having lunch with your grandson. I hope art buyers out there see this for what it is: a cry for help.
