I love red bar tape and my red wool cycling cap. I just love cycling and all its accoutrements. It’s raining and cold, so I’ll got get on the rollers for awhile.

shirt sleeves

I went to law school when I was 44. I practiced law for a couple of years. I couldn’t read my bosses’ minds. Consequently, I went back to photography. It was the right move. I have a closet full of dress shirts with tattered sleeves and color that don’t get worn much any more. As my own boss, I don’t often wear dress shirts. Only when I need to. I much prefer to wear a wool cycling jersey.

Cable cars

You can’t travel to San Francisco without riding the cable cars on the hills. And of course, without shooting pictures of them and what makes them go.

A couple of hours in Chinatown

We didn’t have a lot of time in SF, so we tried to make the most of it. I was drawn to Chinatown for its food and its color. I’ll go back and spend more time there some day soon.

Cali color

The light is beautiful in California this time of year–very low and from the south. It’s hard not to make colorful images in that environment.

Alcatraz

A quick ferry ride from San Francisco. A cool tour. Definitely worth the time and money.
