I live across the street from a very unique artist–Nick Schmiedeler. I love his work. Henry is fascinated with it. People are always slowing down to take it all in. I tell them to drive through the alley so they can see the backside of the house. Check out some of Nick’s work:

Grassroots Art

Baldwin, KS., April 26, 2012. A test shot of the Baker University Chapel. Multiple exposures lit entirely with a Brinkman Spotlight. It needs some tweaking and fine tuning in Photoshop, but I kind of like it. Thanks to Wayne Jarvis for his assistance. I couldn’t have done it without him. Biggest lightpainting project I’ve tackled thus far.

St. Louis Zoo, April 23, 2012. I’m not usually a big fan of photographing animals in zoos (tends to be too easy + it always look likes it shot in a zoo). I found these creatures interesting and close enough to photograph with a relatively short telephoto lens.
